Hello! Katie Wheeler here, coming to you live with part two of my five week video series on keys to happiness. Thank you for tuning in today to key number two, choices. if you missed last week’s video, you can find it on my Facebook page under videos.

This week’s post is about choices and how tuning in and choosing your thoughts can affect your happiness. Something happens, and we feel a certain way about whatever happened. Feelings happen so automatically that we don’t often realize the internal choice we made that caused our feelings. We assume whatever happened caused our feelings. Someone said or did something, a news story set us off, etc. Continue reading “Five Keys to Happiness, Key Two, Choices”

Good afternoon everyone. This is Katie Wheeler coming to you live today to talk about my keys to finding happy.

One of the questions I get asked is how am I always so happy. The answer is a combination of factors which can’t be summed up in one post, so I’m breaking this into a five part video series on my keys to finding happy in the midst of an ordinary life. This is part one containing the first key, perspective. Continue reading “Keys to Finding Happy Part One, Perspective”

What a Bad Customer Service Experience Reminded Me

img_3663

Last weekend, I had one of those awful customer service experiences. It was a 30 minute phone call to our cellular service provider that ended badly. It was clear we were not going to come to a resolution, so the customer service manager hung up on me. I was trembling mad when I told husband about it. I mean, she hung up on me! Not only was she not going to do anything about their mistake but she hung up on me. My feathers were ruffled. I chewed on it all day. By the end of the day, I had a plan for how I would live my life without a cell phone. I would get a landline and a tracfone, maybe something old-fashioned like a rotary phone. There. That’ll show them. HA! As if… Continue reading “What a Bad Customer Service Experience Reminded Me”

Oftentimes I wonder if I’ve found my calling, if what I’m doing, this writing business of trying to inspire people is the right thing. Along my ongoing journey of self-discovery, God sends me bits of wisdom to remind me whether I’m on the right path. Sometimes He redirects my path, other times sends affirmation. When I find a solution to a problem I’ve been chewing on, I’m like a kid in a candy store. I get all excited, grab my money bag and am ready to check out and get a tummy ache on gummy bears! How about those problems that can only be solved with patience and time. Ugh. I hate those kind. Don’t we all? We’d love a quick fix to everything, right? Call the doctor. Get a pill. Feel better. Have another … whiskey? Continue reading “Are We There Yet?”

The Hardest Person to Forgive

Sometimes the most important person you need to forgive for past mistakes and hardships is the most difficult. Forgiveness is directed at the person who created the problem. What do you do when the person who created the problem is you, when the one you need most to forgive is the person in the mirror? Continue reading “The Hardest Person to Forgive”
